Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Bangladesh semifinal blitz makes him highest scorer of Asia Cup Rising Star
Suryavanshi had scored 201 runs in India A’s final three matches: 144 towards UAE, 45 towards Pakistan A and 12 towards Oman.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has continued to pummel bowlers in the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Star. The 14-year-old, who had made his India A debut just a week ago, has become the highest run-scorer of the tournament after his 38-run blitzkrieg against Bangladesh A in the semifinal at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
Similar to his previous innings, Suryavanshi smashed the ball all over the park in the power play. After a record-breaking hundred against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the teenager played a classy knock against Pakistan A but couldn’t get going against Oman.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s semifinal stunner
Despite the setback against Oman, Suryavanshi returned to his best in the semifinal. With India A chasing 195 to qualify for the Asia Cup Rising Star Final, the 14-year-old gave India A the start they required. He hit 2 sixes and 1 four in the first over to give the Men in Blue a flying start.
Suryavanshi then ended the second over by smashing two sixes. India A is already 33/0 after two overs. He had already done his job. He hit another boundary in the 4th over before getting caught at long on for 38 (15). Suryavanshi walked back disappointed, but the stage was set for India A to chase down 195.
If India A reach the final of the Asia Cup Rising Star, they’ll face Pakistan A or Sri Lanka A.
