New Delhi: The Asian Weightlifting Championships, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad in April, has been postponed to Could because of the ongoing battle in West Asia. The continental occasion, initially slated for April 1 to 10, has been pushed again by over a month and can now be held from Could 12 to 17.

The Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) stated the rescheduling was finished to make sure the “secure and easy participation” of all delegations.

“Because of the present state of affairs affecting the Center East and the Gulf area, the 2026 AWF Asian Senior Weightlifting Championships have been rescheduled,” the AWF stated in an announcement. “So as to make sure the secure and easy participation of all delegations, the competitors will now happen from 12 to 17 Could 2026,” the assertion added.
