Ruturaj Gaikwad hit an unbeaten half-century and Harshit Rana picked up three wickets as India A defeated South Africa A by 9 wickets within the second unofficial ODI on Sunday.

This win gave India A an unassailable 2–0 lead within the three-match collection. Quick bowler Rana (3/21) and left-arm spinner Nishant Sindhu (4/16) mixed to bowl out South Africa A for simply 132 in 30.3 overs. India A then chased down the goal comfortably, reaching 135 for 1 in 27.5 overs.

Abhishek Sharma scored a fast 32 from 22 balls and shared a 53-run opening stand with Gaikwad (68*). Nevertheless, Abhishek was dismissed after lofting a catch to Luhan Dre Pretorious off the bowling of Lutho Sipamla.

Gaikwad and captain Tilak Varma (29*) then guided India A house with none bother, with Gaikwad ending the match by hitting a boundary off spinner Prenelan Subrayen.

Earlier, the South African batters struggled towards Rana’s tempo and Sindhu’s variations, because the pair took seven wickets between them. Not a single South African batter crossed 40, with opener and wicketkeeper Rivaldo Moonsamy top-scoring with 33 from 34 balls.
