“Like, the goal first is to perform in Ranji Trophy, then comes the T20s (Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy).. There is a different game-plan for different formats. It is a step-by-step process for me. For now, the planning is about the red ball, and when subsequently when the T20s come, the mindset will be different. That mindset will only give me a breakthrough season in the IPL.”
Abhishek Porel also remained clear, that Test cricket is what he prefers, and that tops the list for him. T20s and ODIs is fine too, but playing Tests for India is the ultimate dream. “I want to play all formats for India, and wherever I get a chance.. playing Tests is a matter of great pride. I prefer red ball cricket; there is a different feeling about the format. So playing Tests for India is a priority.”
