After a successful inaugural season, the Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 is back. And it is back with a bang, as two new franchises have joined in, namely the Outer Delhi Warriors and the New Delhi Tigers.

The additions meant the league saw its first mega auction, with several huge names switching teams just after one year. Priyansh Arya, for example, ended up as the highest run-getter in DPL 2024 for the South Delhi Superstarz and will now represent Outer Delhi. Meanwhile, last year’s title-winning captain, Himmat Singh, has also switched his allegiance from the East Delhi Riders to the New Delhi Tigers.

The season starts with the repeat of the finale (2024) as South Delhi take on East Delhi. The men’s tournament, featuring eight teams, will run from August 2 to August 31. Each team will play 10 league matches , including double round-robin within their group (home & away) and single round-robin against teams in the other group. The top four sides will advance to the playoffs, following the IPL-style format of Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and Final.

The women’s league will be played from August 17 to 24, featuring four teams and a simple round-robin format, culminating in a final between the top two sides. Below, we see the points table of the Delhi Premier League 2025.
