The continued tussle between the Election Fee (EC) and the Opposition INDIA bloc — barring the Aam Aadmi Celebration — over the previous few months is somewhat unlucky. India has seen many fierce contests between ruling events and the Opposition, some extended and intense just like the anti-Emergency motion, however by no means such a direct conflict.

Whereas questions concerning the neutrality and equity of the EC have been raised previously, the present standoff — with either side buying and selling accusations — marks a brand new low.
